Hi there and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My brother John is about to embark on an amazing adventure by taking part in the 'Round The World Clipper Yacht Race' for four months from January 2016.  This will be an extraordinary personal challenge for him and he is delighted to be doing the 5th leg of the race to raise valuable money and awareness for the CATS Foundation (Cure And Action for Tay-Sachs disease - a rare and fatal genetic disorder in very young children).

He wants to raise £10K, so I'm setting myself a personal challenge to lose 30 lbs before he sets sail and contribute £1K towards his goal.

Those of you who know me well will know I struggle with my weight and have had a number of failed attempts to get it off over the years.  This is a great incentive for me to stick to it and push myself hard to get fit and lose those pounds, whilst helping him with his fundraising effort.

The CATS Foundation provides invaluable support, respite and vital equipment so that sufferers can have a quality of life as high as possible.  They also provide critical research funding for potential treatments for this terminal illness.

Any support from you would be amazing and is going to this very worthwhile cause.
