On July 29th 2012 I'll be taking part in the Spartan Race at RAF Bassingbourn. This is a 5K course (over 3 miles) consisting of 15 obstacles (over walls, through tunnels, in water, under barbed wire, MUD, MUD and more MUD!)

During my life I've always been active, enjoying ballet and tap dance as a toddler, playing netball and hockey at school, aerobics, step, body pump at the gym and skiing (allbeit it slowly!!), cycling to and from work.....basically I'll have a go. I may not be the best but as we all know 'it's the taking part that counts'. I have never done anything like this before.

Earlier this year I had a taster of DNA Bootcamps in my local park. Together with a fantastic group of people from all walks of life and with varying fitness levels you are put through your paces. I found the sessions tough but the sense of camaraderie is superb and this has led me to hear of Spartan.

So folks, this is where you can help me. As I'm taking on the massive Spartan challenge and getting covered in mud, mud and lots of mud in the process, I figured I'd do this for a worthy cause. I've chosen the MS Society, particularly as my childhood friend and neighbour has recently been diagnosed with MS. Any amount, however small, will go to help them in the support and research they do for both sufferers and those affected by Multiple Sclerosis.
