We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

It has been a lifelong family dream to have a runner in the Epsom Investec Derby.

We are finally close to realising the dream with our homebred filly Diore Lia, who is trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam, owned by Ms M Todd and ridden by Michelle Payne, a unique female combination in this historic race.

In order to celebrate this momentous occasion we would like to ask the public to help us mark this milestone by making donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, which is a charity close to our hearts.

We feel that it is important to note that Great Ormond Street Hospital will not be benefiting from any form of gambling or betting through this process.

About Great Ormond Street Hospital

The hospital has relied on charitable support since it first opened in 1852. While the NHS meets the day-to-day running costs of the hospital, the fundraising income allows GOSH to remain at the forefront of child healthcare.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH) needs to raise about £100 million every year to help rebuild and refurbish GOSH, buy vital equipment, support pioneering research and fund important patient, family and staff support projects, to ensure every child at GOSH receives the world-class care they deserve.

  • GOSH has 63 specialities – the UK’s widest range of health services for children on one site.
  • 40 per cent of our patients are under four years old.
  • GOSH receives more than 283,000 patient visits every year
  • GOSH is one of the largest heart transplant centres for children in the world. Since the heart transplant programme began in 1988, we have conducted more than 500 heart and/or lung transplants.
  • GOSH carries out about 60 per cent of all UK operations for children with epilepsy.
