Story

The Surrey Classic Bike Ride 2014, in association with Esher Rugby Club, has a challenge for all abilities and will have three different and challenging routes, covering miles of the beautiful Surrey country side on Sunday June 29, 2014. The three one day rides are designed for all cycling enthusiasts, sportsmen and women who want to take on a challenge and at the same time raise some much appreciated funds for a highly deserving cause.

The Surrey Classic is Supporting Esher stalwart and Legend Paul Barker. In 2013 he had his leg amputated due to a rare form of cancer called fibrosarcoma.

All the money raised is going towards Paul living a normal life. After 6 months of Chemo Paul will be ready to be fitted with a prosthetic leg and we are aiming to raise enough to give Paul a state-of-the-art leg.

'It's great to see the rugby community rallying behind their own again, the amazing support I received after my accident was overwhelming and continues to this day through my Foundation.  I'm delighted we are able to be in a position to help Paul and I'm sure he will be able to help lots of others in the future by inspiring others who find themselves in a similar position.  I wish all who take part in the bike ride every success and I'm sure in true rugby tradition you will all enjoy the rehydration afterwards!'

Thank you so much for your support.
