The co-operative local forum for Sutton & Carshalton are raising funds this Christmas for Sutton Mencap's Christmas Grotto.

Sutton Mencap support over 200 children and adults with a learning disability in the local community. Each year their staff volunteer their time to create a magical grotto for children with learning disabilities, their siblings and supporters. They respond to the needs of each child adjusting lights, sounds and sometimes even evicting Santa to make it a truly personal experience.   

We would like to be able to buy 60 Tangle Toys for the children attending the grotto this year, many of whom have learning disbailities. A Tangle Toy is not your traditional toy for children.  Tangles are based on the concept of infinity and continuous motion. This ‘magic in the motion’ that you feel when you play with a Tangle is truly therapeutic and calming. They suit all ages and abilities and can particularly good as a fidget/stress reliever for children with autism. Once you have a tangle in your hand, you just can’t put it down!

Any donation is appreciated. If we are lucky enough to raise more than is needed the remaining money will be donated to Sutton Mencap's Christmas Breakaways Appeal, providing respite for families that use their service.
