Where is your money going?

River Kids was set up ten years ago to meet the needs of West Lothian’s most disadvantaged children.
The charity believes that all children have the right to play and it therefore focusses on toy appeals for Christmas and birthdays.
They support 1,700 vulnerable children in families who are experiencing poverty, domestic and sexual abuse, drug and alcohol problems and homelessness.

River Kids receive requests for a wide range of support, from new born babies living in poverty to teenagers living in homeless shelters.
River Kids also receives requests for birthday presents. At the moment they spend £5 per child.
Through your fundraising we hope to increase this. Please help to fill their shelves with old and new toys.

Many of the children have been removed from their homes to keep them safe.
Due to their circumstances they have to be very careful about simple things, like where they go in the local area. Day trips are often not an option.
River Kids has arranged for the Five Sisters Zoo to be opened in the evening just for the children they support.
They have negotiated a much reduced entry fee of £2 per child.
Your fundraising will allow the children to have an amazing time in a totally safe environment.

It is reality that some children don’t get a Christmas present from Santa.
Some will believe it’s because they’ve not been well behaved.
For £15 you can make sure a child enjoys a magical morning with Santa. They can sing carols, play games and, most importantly, receive a gift.
Each child will write a letter to Santa asking for what they would like. We’ll have a ‘giving tree’ in the office so you can choose what gift you want to give.
The gifts are not expensive, but mean so much to the child.
This event was cancelled last year due to lack of funding, so with your help we want to make sure it happens.
