In April 2018, I'll be lacing up my running shoes and pounding the streets of London for a whole 26.2miles. This will be exactly 13.1miles further than the longest run I've done to date, and that was hard enough.

My first full marathon (possibly my only ever marathon) seems like the perfect opportunity to raise money for a cause I believe in, and for those of you who know me, improving children's well-being is one of those causes. Think Children are a local, Nottinghamshire charity who I have been fortunate enough to be involved with since moving to Nottingham 7 years ago. They provide emotional well-being support to young children with emerging difficulties before the age at which they are eligible for statutory mental health support. They do this through the child's school, ensuring even the most vulnerable children are able to access their support. And the icing on the cake, the support they provide is based on play, meaning the work they do is developmentally appropriate and suited to the needs of individual children. The staff at Think Children work tirelessly to ensure they are able to continue to deliver their support to children, and in the current economic climate, securing much needed funding is a challenge. So, for all of the reasons listed above, I will be running the London Marathon for Think Children. By supporting me, you are supporting the work they do to improve the well-being of children across Nottinghamshire.
