We are close friends taking part in the team relay, we sadly experienced the bereavement of our close friend, Hannah.

Looking back on all the times we were with Hannah, we realised there was never a negative day, even one of the last times we saw her was one of the most fun days we ever had, it was my birthday party and she got me a joint present into which she put a lot of thought into.

It was only really after Hannah's death that I realised just how tough it is for someone to live with cystic fibrosis. I remember that she would be out of breath frequently and everywhere we went she would find some form of transport other than walking as we couldn't walk for long.

Despite these difficulties, Hannah always stayed positive, strong and ambitious. She was positive that she would obtain good grades, which she did. She knew she would see Russia, which she did. And she was sure that she would get to the cinema and go to birthday parties even when she was supposed to be in hospital! We are all so happy to have known Hannah, she has taught us a lot in life. She never once complained to us about her life regarding the hospital, even though we sometimes complained to her about our trivial days she would always listen!

Hannah has inspired us to do our best in life, to make what we can out of everything, to appreciate every day out and to always follow our dreams as dreams are obtainable. Most importantly she has opened our eyes as to how difficult living with cf is and we support all research to treat it and care for cf patients.
