Team Macy was created in 2012 following the death of Macy Cruickshanks from a Congenital Heart Defect.  CHD's kill more children and babies than all childhood cancers put together and the statistics remain shocking. 

Macy was born a happy healthy baby, the third child for Helen and Paul Cruickshanks and little sister for Libby and Sam.  Within weeks of her birth, Macy became very sick and was found to have a heart condition - Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.  She was transferred to The Royal Brompton Hospital where she underwent an 8 hour open heart surgery.  Devastatingly, at aged just 6 weeks and 1 day old, Macy grew her angel wings.

Her family have been fundraising ever since, to raise money for genetic research into heart conditions, to raise money for vital equipment on intensive care units and also to raise awareness of these killer childhood conditions.

They would also like to raise money to support other families with sick children and provide support to families who face similar situations.

We have decided to challenge ourselves to raise awareness of Team Macy, to raise money in Macy's honour and to keep our hearts healthy, something Macy never had the opportunity to do.

Together we have decided to climb the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales back to back!

We will start at Ben Nevis and climb a total of 1,345m.  Next on to Scafell Pike, a total of 978m and finally on to Snowden approx 1085m.  The total distance of these 3 mountains is the same as a full marathon - 26 miles and a total of approx 15 hours non-stop hill climbing!

Team Macy has so far raised over £74,000 and we are aiming for our next target of the big 100K!
