Fundraising for St John Ambulance
Story

In aid of St John’s Ambulance, Molly, Ruth and Winston (Team Matthews), have decided to run the London Marathon in April this year. Before you pre-judge on the insanity of the three of us, allow us to give you some context....
Molly’s venture all began based on a drunken (surprise) bet that she couldn’t run a marathon; Ruth is uber competitive (also, shock) and will not allow Molly to run a marathon without her, despite her hatred of running and Winston is just boringly (yet again – disbelief) good at marathons and has taken on the ‘coach’ role; the girls have however denied him the use of anything that vaguely resembles a spatula. By far the best bit has been the breakfasts’ eaten after each run – please ask us for any recommendations or trip advisor reviews, we’re well practised!
Training is progressing well. Ruth is decreasing the amount of times she says ‘bored’ on a long-distance run, Molly has already lost three stone (!!) and Dad has learnt how to run whilst dragging one, or sometimes two petulant daughters around with him. There is, as you can imagine, still progress to be made.
More seriously, we are training really hard in all conditions and are doing all of this in our endeavour to raise as much money for SJA – a charity organisation who I’m sure you’ve seen volunteering at concerts, sporting events, festivals and providing courses. Let us all prove to them their presence doesn’t go unnoticed and is highly valued.
