Story
Hello!
Thanks for taking the time to visit Team RNM's JustGiving page.
Team RNM is made up of members from Crystal Palace supporters forum www.ronnoadesmum.com
This team has been set up to undertake a fundraising challenge in aid of The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.
We thought this would be a worthy cause, since our good friend John 'Hoops' Donald was diagnosed with Myeloma early in 2009.
Since he was diagnosed, Hoops has undergone aggressive Chemo treatment and has had a Stem Cell transplant in September 2009.
He received his results in December 2009, and the good news is, he is currently in remission. :)
Hoops inspired us to fundraised on behalf of the Marsden, when he mentioned that if it wasn't for the tireless efforts of the nurses and consultants at the Marsden, Hoops would not have had a hope in hell of getting through his ordeal.
We believe that it's time to give something back, and need your help to do this.
So here is the plan:
Team RNM will be walking from Selhurst Park SE25 London, the home of our beloved Crystal Palace, to the Withdean in Brighton, the home of our rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.
The night before the walk we will be at The Whitehorse pub, Selhurst Road, Selhurst collecting for the event and enjoying beverages with all the lovely locals and staff.
We will be walking the weekend of the 5th & 6th of June 2010. It will be approximately 45 miles, we will also be collecting donations en-route.
When we finish the walk, we will spend the evening enjoying the hospitality of The Hydrant pub, 75 London road, Brighton where there will be a live band and more money collecting and more beverages. All are welcome to join us at either pub to boost our morale. :)
