Story

'The Birds on Tour', a group who have known each other since school days including Helen, Angie, Kirsty, Karen, Andrea, Lauren & Lucy, thought it would be a great idea to complete a sponsored charity walk starting at Whitby & finishing at Saltburn which is 22 miles in total...

Our chosen charity is a fantastic local organisation called the 'Headlight Project' who are a registered charity founded in memory of Russ Devereax. Their main aims are to teach children about mental health, working in collaboration with other organisations providing support and help for adults and working to deliver emotional resilience workshops and counselling across the Teesside area. The Headlight Project has a particular focus in supporting individuals and families who have been affected by suicide.

As a group, we had actually started practising for the walk last year before it came to an abrupt end just before lockdown. However, sadly this cause seems all the more relevant since there have been so many people suffering with their mental health in one way or another due to the Covid pandemic.

We would be so grateful if you could sponsor even just a small amount to this amazing charity and help many young people and family's across our local communities.

Our tour takes place on 9th October 2021.

Thank you, love from the 'Bird's on Tour!' 🕊 💞xxx

The Russ Devereux Headlight Project was founded in memory of Russell Devereux by his wife Catherine. Russ tragically died by suicide on 6 May 2018 age 41 leaving behind three young children. The'Headlight Project, providing a light when the road ahead is dark'
