We use gardening to help disabled people to make positive changes to their lives

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Each year we choose a charity, typically with some kind of horticultural link, as our Charity of the Year.

We donate all revenue we receive from Google Adverts on the advice pages of our website to our Charity of the Year. To help create awareness of the work our Charity of the Year does, we also feature them on the homepage of our website and encourage members to support them too.

Gardening is physically demanding but very rewarding. Thrive uses gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities or ill health, or who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable.

This therapy is known as social and therapeutic horticulture - the process of working with plants to improve physical and psychological health, and communication and thinking skills.

It is also uses the garden as a safe and secure environment in which to develop an individual’s ability to socialise, make friends, and gain practical skills that make them more independent and self-reliant.

We hope that you can support Thrive too.
