Prospect Hospice

We bring nurse-led hospice care & support to people in Swindon and north Wiltshire

Canoeing 135 miles on the River Thames from Lechlade to London in aid of the Propect Hospice.

Dear Sponsor

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Friday 1st July 2011, I will be in a two man paddle canoe that will attempt to canoe 135 miles from Lechlade, Glos to London in just 4 days.

In total there will be ten two man canoes each hopefully completing approximately 35 miles per day and we will be on the River Thames paddling for at least 10 hours each day.

All funds raised will be donated to the Prospect Hospice who provided support to Gill`s father Tom when the family were nursing him at home during the last months of his life. This support was invaluable to the family at a time of great stress and I am sure you will support this enterprise.

All the volunteers are novice canoeists, including me, so paddling approximately 35 miles each day is a severe test of endurance.  All of the sponsorship proceeds will be given to the Prospect Hospice in Swindon, so even if you harbour ill feeling towards me (can't think why) then think of it as paying to see me endure pain and suffering and of that there will be plenty!!!

If you use the link below to justgiving.com then any donation you give will ensure that the giving to charity tax allowance will add 25% to the donation - you will need to use your card for this. If however, you prefer to send me a cheque or cash then that is fine too.  If you can solicit extra sponsorship from your friends/work colleagues then use the forms below.

Many thanks (every penny will help)
