Thomas was born with a brain condition meaning he is profoundly disabled and totally reliant on his family and others for all his needs. He's non-verbal and isn't able to use signs to communicate. Thomas is the happiest little boy and can definitely make it known he's happy with big smiles and laughs. He's very popular with staff and peers at his school and carers and professionals that work with him.

At the moment though Thomas has serious barriers to communication and can't even indicate the most basic choices for himself.

The Sequal Trust are a charity that can provide alternative technology to help children and adults like Thomas communicate. Thomas has had trials of alternative technology and his Speech and Language Therapist has concluded a Grid Pad My Gaze remote eye tracking device will meet his current and future needs. This device could open up the world to Thomas and give him the opportunity to take a more active role. This could give Thomas his "voice" and improve his education and general well being. Sadly this equipment isn't available on the NHS and the family can't afford it. The Sequal Trust can supply this to Thomas on a loan basis once they raise sufficient funds to purchase it.

The total cost of the equipment is £5200. The Sequal Trust have £2000 left to raise. We'd be grateful for any support for Thomas to raise the balance required to obtain this equipment for him.
