Story
As many of you know, on the 24th July 2014, my dad peacefully fell asleep after a long fought battle with cancer. My dad was the kind of person that would live every minute to the full, and was so so grateful for all the help he received throughout his life and even more so near the end of his life. In respect of that me and my family have set up this just giving page to raise as much money for Macmillan Cancer charity as possible. We aim to hold various events throughout the year in memory of my father and this will be a place where anybody who can't attend an event can donate to this fantastic cause!
To anybody who has lost a parent, regardless of how/when/where and why, will know of the huge void it leaves when they are taken away - I have had to learn this the hard way. I had to watch my dad become a very poorly shell of his former self right before my very eyes - all because of this stupid disease we call cancer! Well cancer - we are coming for you! My dad was never one to go down without a fight and if the money raised on this page can help at least one family like ours, get to spend precious time with their family members - well then that's job well done as far as I'm concerned!
