Story

TigerTails Radio is an Internet Radio show/Podcast that's been running since July 20th 2004. The show was co-created by Thomas King and Hedge Hog as a way to entertain themselves and anyone else who cared to listen in. In 2005, the cast and listeners raised money for Comic Relief, by throwing gunge over each other. It was an event that was repeated in 2007, and again in 2011. All told, TigerTails Radio has raised over £1100 for Comic Relief.

Since the move to YouTube to broadcast the show, co-host Xavier announced that we would celebrate a small YouTube milestone by organising a fourth gunge-a-thon event. However, this time it would be for a new charity. After some debating, the Dogs Trust was decided as the charity of choice. Their mission of giving stray and abandoned dogs a second chance in life spoke to the cast, and their policy of never destroying a healthy dog aligned to the personal beliefs of everyone involved with TigerTails Radio.

The event will take place on Monday 5th November 2018 at 8pm UK time - streamed live over the Internet so you can enjoy it from the comfort of your own home.  The show is live at http://www.tigertailsradio.co.uk/ and also on YouTube at www.youtube.com/tigertailsradio - with the main website the main place photos and videos of the event will be shared afterwards.

So what does the Dogs Trust do with your donation? Well, the money goes to making the lives of the dogs in their care that little bit better as they wait for their forever family to adopt them. £90 can pay for neutering of a dog, £40 pays for training classes, £33 covers weekly vet checks, £21 gets special puppy formula, while just £20 pays for vaccinations for the dogs. £18 pays for a cosy dog bed, and £12 can see a dog get microchipped. Even donations of just £1-5 can get lovely doggo treats - so there really is no amount too small to make a dog's life better.

In return for your generous donation, the cast will be covered in disgusting multicolored BBC grade slop. For every £20 added to the total, they add a bucket (so make sure you mention in the comments who your money is going towards gunging). You can either add to the running total, or give a flat £20 to sponsor a bucket directly (and if you have a special message for your victim, say that in the comments too) - and yes, donations stack so £40 will get you 2 buckets thrown in your name.
There will also be the delights of pies! Pies with very brief messages on them. Your message, should you be willing to part with a swift £5. You can select a member of the cast receive a shaving foam pie to the face at any point during the show, and your message will be written on the base of the pie (subject to decency). The £5 will also add to the running total, so just 4 pies (one for each cast member) will earn another bucket for whomever is up next. However, buying 4 pies will not be counted as sponsoring a bucket, so choose your punishment carefully.
As an added bonus, if the target is reached then one of the cast members will be gunged again in a special finalé event wearing a full-body lion costume - as everyone knows Dogs rule and Cats drool, and what better way of showing this than covering the king of the beasts in messy, humiliating gunge?
