Story

My name is Allison Spalding, in May 2007 my 8 year old son Charlie died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition whilst playing rounder's at school.  On the morning of the 16th May he bounced out the door looking forward to his game of rounder's and never came home again, a gaping hole has been left in our family. Charlie had shown no
symptoms of a heart condition and whilst playing rounder's his heart just simply
stopped.  After suffering such a huge loss to our family we started arranging Fundraising events for the charities SADS and CRY.

Each year we hold the Tiger Ball at the Mercure Hotel Brands Hatch, this year the ball
will be held on the 10
th November with all funds raised going to the
SADS UK defibrillators for schools campaign.
Although as many as 270 children die after suffering sudden cardiac arrest in British schools each year, there is no legal requirement for defibrillators to be kept on their premises and the charity is urging Government to pass a law to ensure schools have defibrillators in place. If a defibrillator is used immediately to restart the heart after cardiac arrest there is a much better
chance of survival.  The automated defibrillator is a small portable device, simple to use and won’t give a defibrillation shock unless the victim needs this therapy to start their heart.
The money raised at this event will buy defibrillators and training for local schools in Charlie’s memory.
