I write to raise awareness of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis an autoimmune disease that affects the whole bodies systems.

My son first became ill when he was 8 years old and because the treatment regime he was given was wrong, he remains very ill.

He has mostly spent the last three years housebound because movement causes his heart and blood pressure to respond in an abnormal way. His mitochondria cannot make the energy he needs or carry oxygen around his body. His muscles produce 20 x that of a normal person, so walking in the house makes his body respond like he has run a marathon.

Because of the lack of research and the complex difficulties sufferers have, no one can tell me what the future holds. Great scientists are working hard to find out why this is, but it takes funding.

I would like to say thank you for your thoughts and kind donation. It will make a great difference to 25,000 children that suffer like my son and 250,000 adults that for decades have had no future.
