Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 1978 my grandad died as a result of prostate cancer. This year it also took my mum's cousin. 10000 men each year in the UK alone are killed by this disease and through greater awareness of the symptoms and diagnosis we can drastically reduce this number.

In August I am running the Spire 10 mile, a race which is also sponsoring the same charity. It's a tough race, and I've never run more than about 7 miles before. Please contribute what you can - anyone who contributes can enter a sweepstake to guess my finishing (chip) time. As a guide, my 10K time is 53 minutes but I've never done more than 7 miles before. In the event of multiple people guessing the same time, I will ask for a new guess. To help avoid this, add or subtract a few seconds to your "minutes" time. For a view of the course, with altitude profile, go to http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_1047669.html

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
