We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Jemimah Waddington is my son's partner and mother of my grandson. When 19 years old, Jemimah suffered a stroke. She was treated in hospital and discharged home, feeling disabled and completely reliant on others. But, with support from family, friends and the Stroke Association, she stayed focused on her recovery, and within a year her speech and mobility had improved considerably — and eighteen months after her stroke, she gave birth to Edward, or Teddy as we know him.
I wanted to help the Stroke Association, so, for the first time since 2007, I've entered next year's Brighton Half Marathon. My best time for this race was 1:43:14 in 2005, and I won't be as fast, but I'll finish, I hope in under 2:15.
You can read more about Jemimah's story in the summer 2016 issue of Stroke News https://www.stroke.org.uk/resources/stroke-news-summer-2016 - please support her, me and the Stroke Association with a donation
