Before I head off to Australia for a year I will be dressing up as a giant turkey and running 16 miles from Leeds to Huddersfield on the 28th of December to help raise money for Simon on the Streets.

Simon on the Streets is an independent charity which supports rough sleepers around West Yorkshire, primarily those in Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield. Our mission is to provide intensive support to homeless people that have found themselves excluded from, or who refuse the intervention of other services.  These are some of the most isolated and vulnerable members of our community and invariably the majority live on our streets as entrenched rough sleepers with little or no support network to speak of. We approach the task of providing support with a long-term view aiming to empower our service users to change their lives.  We remain working with them to support them through this journey no matter how long it takes.
