Dear All,

I have decided to spend three months this fall and winter as a team leader of volunteer business consultants to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Zambia as part of the International Citizen Service Entrepreneur initiative (ICSE), jointly coordinated by Challenges Worldwide and ICS. As you probably know, SMEs are increasingly being recognised as productive drivers of economic growth and development for African countries. Helping local businesses grow is one of the few forms of sustainable aid that we could offer to developing regions of the world in order to address unemployment and alleviate poverty.  

As part of my commitment to the program, I will attempt to fundraise £800 to go towards the initiative, so that ICS and Challenges Worldwide will continue to recruit and send teams of volunteers to developing countries in an effort to deliver a lasting change. We live in a globalised world and our responsibilities are just as global and just as shared.
