Story

This year I am foregoing our annual Ron Tailford Golf Day and walking St Oswalds Way for NEPAC. NEPAC is my chosen charity to sponsor and I have been supporting it for over 20 years. Polly, my wife is a trustee and the charity was set up by her best friend Roxanne's  father George nearly 30 years ago. NEPAC raises money for blood cancer research and specifically Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma which both George and my father suffered from. To date the charity has raised over 1.6 million pounds. I thought it very fitting to tackle this walk as I love Northumberland and know it was very close to George's heart as well.

I will start my walk from Heavenfield, near Chollerford on Wednesday June 5th staying over at Kirkwhelpington, Felton and Beadnell and hopefully completing the walk in 4 days. This means an average of approx. 25 miles per day. Please sponsor and help me try and raise my target. If anyone wants to join me for a day or part of a day then please get in touch.

Cheers Tony

About the charity

This voluntary charity set up in 1989 gives out around £60,000 each year. Most of this money is given to support blood-related cancer research in the Newcastle University Medical School and the RVI, Newcastle upon Tyne. The rest of the money is given to local hospices and cancer support groups.
