Story
We're Georgina and Torie and we head up the Refugee Support Network's mentoring hub in Oxford. Through this project, young refugees and asylum seekers are matched up with adult volunteer mentors who support them to do well in school, grow in confidence and become more integrated in their Oxford communities.
Young refugees - who have fled trauma and conflict at an early age - often tell us that education is one of the most positive things in their lives. We believe that supporting them to move forward in their education through RSN's mentoring hub can enable them to attain the hope-filled futures they deserve.
This summer we're planning to gather young people from our London and Oxford mentoring hubs - most of whom are in the UK without families - for a fun social time together in the city of Oxford. We want them to build relationships, make memories and ultimately to have some normal positive teenager experiences!
Can you chip in to make this happen?
Your donation will help us to cover the costs of this much-needed day out. Anything extra we raise will go directly to our Oxford mentoring hub, enabling us to keep supporting young refugees towards a more hopeful futures.
