Story

On Saturday, September 16th a group of 21 determined and dedicated colleagues from UNW will be partaking in a 26-mile marathon walk around Kielder water in aid of our nominated charity of the year, Smile for Life.

Despite the walking element, a marathon walk is no mean feat, we hope that staff get plenty of practice between now and then! Hopefully the weather permits and all staff make it back to the lodge by the evening for a BBQ and some well-earned liquid refreshments.

The team hopes to raise £5,000 for the charity, who were established in Gosforth in 2007 with the aim of enhancing and enriching the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children across the region, who may be unable to get all the funding they require form the larger national charities and other organisations.

We continued with Smile for Life as our nominated charity of the year for a second consecutive year to continue to support their great work, and with that in mind, aim to raise as much money as possible and ask for your support.

For every pound raised, the total will be matched by UNW.
