Story

Sunday 31st March 2019 is Mothers Day....a special day of Celebration for Mums, Daughters, Grandmothers and Granddaughters and for everyone who absolutely loves & adores their Mum.

It's also the day Volvo owners will come together to smash a Guinness World Record for the most Volvo Cars in convoy over a measured Mile.

Sunday 31st March 2019 will see 1000+ Volvo cars assemble at the 3000 meter runway at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire UK to beat the current World Record of 570 Volvo cars.

VolvoTuning and Volvo Cars UK with a lengthy list of Volvo Enthusiasts Clubs & Groups would like to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care to commemorate this amazing day and dedicate it to all Mums and Daughters and Family members who have been affected by Breast Cancer.

Breast Cancer Care is the only specialist UK-wide charity in the UK providing care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer.  Their work is invaluable in providing support for people living with and beyond breast cancer.

VolvoTuning recently lost one of it's founding and most loved members to cancer - we were devastated but came together to show our love and support for John 'Nosh' Ronie and Sam.  We were all profoundly affected by it....just as we all know & love someone who is affected by Breast Cancer.

It is through our love for 'Nosh' Ronie and #becauseNOSH that this World Record Attempt event will take place and hopefully raise essential funds for Breast Cancer Care.

Choosing the charity Breast Cancer Care wan't an easy choice with so many charities doing fantastic work in the UK & worldwide, but our thoughts were directed to a long standing, well respected and much loved VolvoTuning member and all round Volvo nut Skye Charlotte Crockford.

Skye has experienced first hand the affects of this disease and the impact it has had on her life and those she loves, she has also experienced the valuable support given by Breast Cancer Care.

An important & heartfelt message from Skye...

'As some of you know, I was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer last year. It hit me and my family and friends like a ton of Swedish bricks.

I am still receiving treatment following chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy but I have been told I am in remission 😊.

Being diagnosed with cancer is bloody terrifying and every bit of support is vital for the patient and their families.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer so everyone knows someone who has been or will be affected.

I'm so pleased that VolvoTuning has chosen Breast Cancer Care as the charity they will be supporting with donations from the World Record Attempt next year.

Breast Cancer Care provide all of the literature that hospitals provide their breast cancer patients, they also have a website and a helpline which I know patients find so valuable. They provide support through diagnosis, treatment and the mental and physical fallout afterwards.

They have given support to so many people just like me and it's an honour to show them how much their support means to me and thousands of others in the UK by giving a little something back, and who better to do this with than my wonderful VT family.'

A £10 Donation from all that will attend the VOLVO600 Guinness World Record Attempt #VOLVO600 will raise between £6000 to £10000....not only Breaking an Official Guinness World Record BUT Saving Lives whilst doing so.

So if you own a Volvo and want to share your love on Mothers Day, come to Bruntingthorpe 31/3/19 and help set an Official World Record.
