They are funded almost entirely by charity donations. It costs £629 a day to provide one bed and the associated care for one patient. They receive a very small amount of government funding, one of the lowest amounts in the country as it happens, so need to raise a staggering £7.25million every year on top of that to keep doing what they do as well as they do.
It's a very special place.
