Story
Hi All, for those who do not know me, my name is Victoria and I am a 36 year old, married mother of two. My two beautiful children, Imogen and Jac are my world. My biggest achievement in life is being a mother and I feel privileged to be able to watch them grow and develop into the funny, caring and entertaining characters they are! I have been fortunate enough to gain a ballot place in the 2019 London Marathon, taking place on the 28th April 2019. This is an opportunity for their Mother to make them proud!
I am hoping to complete the 26.2 miles in one piece!! I am not a natural runner and this will be a very big challenge for me. I feel very fortunate to have gained a place and wanted to complete my biggest challenge to date with a purpose. I was adamant I wanted my marathon attempt to raise awareness and at the same time fundraise for a local charity that means something to me. I immediately thought of 2 Wish Upon A Star as the perfect charity to raise funds for!
2 Wish Upon A Star provides bereavement support for families who have suddenly and traumatically lost a child or young adult aged 25 years and under. When a family loses a child or young adult the effects are devastating for all who knew and loved them. It is important that support is available if and when required. It is important families know that they are not alone and that the feelings they are experiencing are often normal. 2 Wish Upon A Star provide memory boxes and family rooms at Hospitals and offer immediate support as well as on-going counselling, play therapy for siblings and holistic therapy. They also provide support to individuals who have witnessed the sudden and traumatic death of a child or young adult.
2 Wish Upon A Star is a self-funded charity and without the support of the community, they would not be able to provide valued support to families across Wales. I would be very grateful for your support and any donations to help with the fundraising efforts for 2 Wish Upon a Star.
I have started my 17 week Marathon training programme on 31.12.18 and will keep you updated with the progress of my training along the way ( WARNING: this may include some scary pictures! ;-) )
Thank you all in advance for your kindness xxxxxx
