Social Bite

We provide food, support and real jobs to homeless people.

Story

As we approach the festive season, this year I thought I would strive to do something to hopefully give a little something back ... this is where I need your help and support - knowing you all, I know I, and more importantly the people we are aiming to help, won't be disappointed.

This year, Social Bite are taking their campaign to the next level and raising their ambition to help the homeless. Not only will they continue to offer meals to the most vulnerable people throughout the year, but they are aiming to offer employment programmes through the Social Bite Academy and build a Social Bite village of houses. These 20 individual homes, made from shipping containers, will not only put roofs over people's heads, but will be paired with a full 12 month support programme to help get some of them to get back on their feet.

I will be joining other CEO's and business leaders to brave the elements (have you seen the recent night-time temperatures of late!) and sleep out under the stars in Edinburgh on Thursday 15 December. Our motivation for doing this is to raise the much needed funds that Social Bite need to turn their ambitions into reality. Don't get me wrong, we as business leaders are not doing this to pretend that we could possibly know what it feels like to be "homeless" - it's about raising awareness and, more importantly, the funds required to help Social Bite achieve their goal.

So, can I ask you to offer your support in whatever way you can financially - every little bit helps - the more we raise, the more people we can help. I know this time of year is hard for many, but if you can find your way to making a donation, I know it will go to a great cause.

Thank you for your support and I will think of you all as I count stars instead of sheep on the 15th December.

 David
