Westbury on Trym Academy has a long-standing partnership with a school in Singdi village in the Annapurna region of Nepal. In 1999 a group of teachers, pupils and parents raised money for the Pahar Trust to build a school in this remote village, and then went out to visit. Since then there have been various groups who have also raised funds and visited the school in Singdi.

A group of families from Westbury on Trym Academy and some 6th formers from Bristol Free School are travelling to Singdi in April 2017. As part of this, we are raising money to equip the school's science labs - everything from thermometers to microscopes. All the money donated via this page to the Pahar Trust will go specifically to Singdi school (we are funding the trip to Nepal ourselves).

The people going are: Philip, Helen, Samuel and Thomas; Dale, Sharon and Lewis; Helen and Eddie; Fiona, Nick and Ben; Ben and Alp; Maddie, James and Max; Tim.

Our fundraising events include:

• A sponsored bike ride around south Bristol on 5 February.
• A stall at the Academy Christmas fair.
• A lunch at Kathmandu Restaurant on 26 February.
• A carwash.
• A cake sale.
