Story

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a national charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We are fighting to achieve a better quality of life for the 300,000 people in the UK suffering physically and emotionally from these and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Ultimately, we want to find a cure.

My name is Joanne, I was diagnosed 2 days before my 15th birthday with crohn's and after battling with all the normal meds I had to get a illeostomy which dad said you have to give it a name, so me being 15 and have a funny side as most of you know I called my stoma Whinnie the pooh. They left the rectom hoping that in a few years they could get rid of whinnie and not have the bag anymore, but the age of 20 I was really bad and had to get the rectom removed. Long story short I had the operation and spent my 21 in hospital nearly died and had to have more operation to save my life. Now just recently being in hospital finding out more surgery is on the cards and they have told me the crohns has now spread to my pelvis and womb area so may end up with having to have a hysterectomy. Please support me and give a little as I don't want anyone to go through what I have. ❤️
