Story

On 7th June 2013 Andy Murray became the first British man in 77 years to win Wimbledon and delight tennis lovers all over the country (especially the very proud Scots).

As I type this a kind of rumour-tennis has broken out on social media with comments saying Andy DID donate his full £1,600,000 Wimbledon winnings to charity, and then counter-comments saying he DID NOT.

Inspired by one commentator who said something on the lines of If everyone involved in the Andy Murray prize money rumour donated a quid to the Royal Marsden, they'd probably get more than £1.6m and equally inspired by enormous faith in the famous way we Brits pull together I am asking you for just two pounds please*, for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Donate for cancer reasearch, donate because you are a proud Briton, because you like tennis, because you are tipsy on Pimms and in a very good mood... But do donate. It's only a quid... well, Ok two quid*!

:-) Sarah

* Why is it two quid? Because that's the minimum donation JustGiving processes. If you'd like to give me £1 in person that will be added to the total too.
