Fundraising for The Cancer Support Centre Sutton Coldfield
Story
I’m running the Great Midlands Fun Run in June to raise funds for The Cancer Support Centre, Sutton Coldfield.
For those of you who know me, you’ll know that running a bath is normally the only type of “running” I get involved in! However, this centre has given so much support to my family when we’ve needed it. If I can help raise funds to support the Centre, so other future families can benefit from their support, then that beer at the finish line will be well deserved!!
The Centre provides a place of sanctuary where people gather to laugh, chat and relax. A place where positive thinking and kindness are the core values, Specifically tailored to the needs of people living with cancer.
The Centre does not get any funding from the government or local authority to provide the services so every penny counts. In order to provide their services they have to raise an average of £3200 per week. At really busy times this cost rises to £3600 !
So every penny really does count.
