Story

On Sunday October 6th I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for the Eve Appeal in memory of Abby Kerr. The research the Eve Appeal funds aims to improve the prevention, detection, treatment and care of all five gynaecological cancers http://www.eveappeal.org.uk/. The 13.1 mile route winds through four Parks (Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James's Park and The Green Park)....it's going to be tough, I've never run that sort of distance before!

Please make a donation and leave a comment. My target is to get the amount raised for the Eve Appeal to break 15K .....their research save lives!

Many thanks
Chris (and Rosalie)
.
This Eve Appeal is in memory of Abby Kerr who died on 26th October 2008 aged only 36. She had suffered from a rare form of ovarian cancer, granulosa cell tumour, for the past three years. She was a gifted early years teacher and nursery manager, working in a large Peckham primary school with immigrant children, inspiring and supportive to her colleagues and teaching friends. She was active in leftwing politics and was the NUT representative for her school. Her young daughter, Rosalie aged 6, was the great joy of her life, and she had a wide circle of loving friends and cousins. Her premature death from this terrible cancer is a huge loss to her daughter, her partner, Chris, and her mother and sister, and she leaves an irreplaceable gap in the world.

She would have supported the Eve Appeal from the bottom of her heart. Please give generously to develop research that will help other young women like Abby.

Thank you for your support.
