This year The Edwina Lilley Charitable Trust is bringing friends and family together to support two amazing charities - Destination Florida & Homeless House. 

Charities, in general, have been hugely impacted by the pandemic but the issues that they work so hard to support have remained the same.

In October 2021 our bumper running team is trying to give them a huge boost and make up for lost time; their mission statements are below and we hope you’ll agree they are very worthy beneficiaries of our effort, focus, sweat and fundraising.

As a group we’ll all be running the Abersoch Half Marathon (or walking it in fancy dress!) but this time around we’re getting competitive with the youngsters (Under 35’s) racing against the old timers (Over 35’s) with the top 15 runners from each team counting to the overall result - fastest team wins with some major penalties due to the losing team! :)

Destination Florida organises life enhancing trips to Florida for 72 children with life limiting / changing medical conditions from across the North of England. Their magical trips deliver much needed happiness into children’s lives by providing an environment where they are supported and cared for by teams of medical staff and helpers. Our charity contribution will directly enable a number of children to go to Florida on this once in a lifetime trip. . . .

Homeless House provides a safe haven for disadvantaged people, especially women; they provide a framework to train, inspire, motivate and ultimately help some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society - through their training and support they can find employment and support themselves. Our charity contribution will be going directly to help fund a shelter as a prevention for homelessness within youths.
