I am raising money for The Silver Line charity by jumping out of a plane at 12,000ft on the 27th October 2017.

I have paid £100 myself to participate in the tandem skydive so all funds raised  will go to The Saga Charitable Trust which will then get sent on directly to The Silver Line. I am aiming to raise a target of £500.

As you know we are a charity partner with The Silver Line who make a real difference to the lives of lonely, isolated older people.

Here's a little bit more information about the Charity and what your donations will do to help and what difference you can make....

- Since launching Silver Line they have received over 1.4 million calls

- The Silver Line receive on average 10,000 calls a week from lonely and isolated older people, 53% of the peoole say they have noone else to speak to

- Over two thirds of these calls were made overnight or on the weekends when there are no other helplines available to older people that are lonely

- The calls to Silver Line are free, so they rely entirely on voluntary donations to cover the cost

- £5 will pay for a call with an older person who may not have spoken to any human being all week

- £50 will pay to recruit and train a volunteer to become a Silver Line Friend

- £100 will pay for one caller to be befriended for one year
