London classics challenge · 9 November 2019

Phab inspires and supports disabled and non-disabled children, young people and adults, to make more of life together, through our network of 130 clubs & residential adventures - breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities for all involved.

Story

For the past few years I have been recovering from injuries and have not been able to race at a competitive level. Thankfully with some rest , rehab and quality training I am able to continue racing off road triathlon and complete certain big ticket events like the London marathon in 2020.

One of my PT clients told me about the London classics challenge and this instantly appealed to my sense of adventure. For those who don’t know it you have to complete the London marathon, ride London and swim Serpentine events to receive a classics medal.

This is a challenge in it’s own but I have decided to make it even harder by setting time limits.

London marathon 26th April  (26.2 miles) sub 4 hours

Ride London 16th August (100 miles) sub 5 hours 30 mins

Swim Serpentine 12th September (2 miles) sub 1 hour

A challenge like this is the perfect opportunity to raise money for a worthy charity. Having spoken to a few I have decided on supporting Phab and Phabkids.
