I'm running the Great North Run 2014 in memory of my mam, Jeanette Kelly who sadly died of cancer in 2010.

This will be my third and final time at the Great North Run as I look to raise money for Macmillan, a charity which really made a difference in my Mam's final weeks... and continue to do so for thousands of people every day.

I find running quite tough, but the aches and pains are nothing at all compared to the pain felt by people suffering with cancer day to day and the pain their familes go through alongside them.

This is just me, doing my bit along with 56,000 other runners in the hope that my efforts can help just one person have a brighter day amongst the darkness with the help of Macmillan.
