So many of us know someone who suffers with dementia and/or Alzheimer's. We want to do our bit to support the research and support of current and future sufferers.
My Nan has been robbed of her later life and has been suffering for a number of years and we want to do our bit to help rid this horrid disease. And I'm sure we'll have fun along the way.. or not! ;)
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. The word
dementia describes a set of symptoms that can include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. These symptoms occur when the brain is damaged by certain diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease. This page describes the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, how it is diagnosed, and the factors that can put someone at risk of developing it. It also describes the treatments and support that are currently available.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
