'Alana in Pyjamas' meets 'The Dark Knight'
Fundraising for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity
Story
Hello hello, and welcome to our just giving page!
On the 10th of November, we (Alana and Katie) are going to be taking part in the GUCFS (Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show) jailbreak - in aid of the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity!
This charity has an incredibly positive impact on many children's lives in Glasgow. 168,000 babies, children and young people are treated each year at the Glasgow Children's Hospital, and this charity plays a vital role in enhancing the care that these young people receive. This is a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts, as we both near the end of our degree in Primary Education.
Our mission: to get as far away from our starting point (The Glasgow University Union) in 36 hours as possible - without spending any of our own money!
There are a few ways that this can be done: persuading bus companies/airlines to spare the last few seats and hitch-hiking are some of the more popular methods. Rest assured: the money that you donate to this page will be going directly to the charity - NOT towards our travel!
You may also be wondering where our team name has come from… well, if what you have read so far hasn’t tickled your taste buds, we will be doing the entire thing dressed up! Alana ‘in pyjamas’ will be sporting her cosiest pair of pj’s throughout (the classic banana pinstripe), and Katie ‘The Dark Knight’, you guessed it, will be dressed as exactly that.
