Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On the 7th of October I am running the Edinburgh 10k for Disability Snowsports UK. I would really appreciate any support you can give :)

In April 2011 when I was teaching in Obergurgl, Austria. I had a little accident that destroyed my ACL and damaged my tibia. Two ops and 14months of physio later I am just about back up and running. The enforced downtime really made me appreciate the challenges faced by skiers with disabilities. I am amazed by their courage, determination and can do attitude. I feel very thankful and  lucky that my injury wasn't permanent. I would like to help raise some well needed cash to help others who have been less fortunate than me.

 Disability Snowsport UK are an amazing organisation. They work with both aspiring Para-Olympians and the first timer. Snowsports truely is for everyone..unfortunately however not everyone has the funds or skills (particularly when disabled or injured) to enjoy some snowy fun. Disability Snowsports aims to remedy this with the amazing work they carry out.

 A few years ago I used to volunteer on Monday nights at the mighty Hillend (Midlothian Snowsports Centre, Edinburgh) to teach disabled kids to ski or rocket around the hill on a bi-ski. This helped them in more ways than just having a bit of fun zooming around the place. It helped develop their social skills, confidence, physical aptitudes and a whole lot more. If it was not for the work of Disability Snowsports UK this opportunity would not be available to them.
