Story
B is a mum at Charlie and Annabelle's school. She is a great woman. Not only is she a German with a sense of humour (incredible but true) but she also works every day at Little Havens Children's Hospice caring for some very poorly kids, doing something more worthwhile than most of us put together.
'Fancy doing a charity bike ride' she said. 'Awesome - count me in' I hastily replied.
I imagined it would be a piece of cake - a quick coast down Vicarage Hill on Paul's 1980s grifter and I'd be back in time for Jeremy Kyle. Then she explained it was a tad more arduous than that - 500 kilometres over 7 days of torture through Vietnam and Cambodia cycling up to 8 hours a day on unmade roads.
Still I had said yes and I am ready, willing and totally unprepared for the challenge.
I am going to try and raise as much money as I can for both Little Havens and also for More Tomorrows via the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - a charity set-up by a good friend to try and find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis which, though its donations, is making a real difference in assisting CF sufferers live longer, fuller lives.
I have got the old man to stump up the cash for the trip so anything you donate after Just Giving has taken their bit will be going directly to the two charities.
I am about to enter a world of pain. Please make it worthwhile.
