Last year my Nan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In seeing first hand and also finding out more about the bigger picture of dementia, it's pretty eye-opening and moving. It's a full on experience and one which too many people experience first hand and too few know enough about.
The long and short of it is that I want to do this for my Nan and family, and to help those experiencing the ups and downs of Alzheimers now and for the future.
The coast-to-coast route is almost 200 miles long, covering 3 National Parks, starting in Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire and ending in St Bees in Cumbria. The aim to is complete the route solo in 12 days beginning the 11th August.
The Alzheimer's Society lead the fight against dementia to end the distress it causes.
Thank you, give generously and keep an eye out for updates along the way!
