Story
Many of you will remember me as the 13 year old boy who had to break half way through the 100m due to being out of breath and having a stitch... well 10 years down the line and I'm running the London Marathon. As ludicrous as it sounds, it's for a great cause, it means a lot to me and I hope that, after reading what I've got to say, it will mean a lot to you!
Both my family and my friends' families have been impacted by Alzheimer's disease - as I'm sure many of your own have. Strong progress is being made by organisations such as Alzheimer's Society, the UK's leading dementia charity, to beat this terrible disease through the funding of ground-breaking scientific research, vigorous political action, care for sufferers, and support for families.
They truly are fighting on all fronts!
Alzheimer's Society are working night and day to support the people who are living with the disease whilst also helping their families and friends to adjust to the difficulties and challenges that they will undoubtedly face.
Every three minutes, someone develops dementia. It can be beaten. Each pound donated will have a direct impact on Alzheimer's Society's ability to be there for every person affected by dementia.
If you do not know much about the disease and its impact, please feel free to contact me or visit Alzheimer's Society's website where you can find plenty of information about the fantastic work that they do.
All donations are greatly appreciated by me personally, the Alzheimer's Society, and everyone affected.
