Story
Anthony Nolan is the charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer by matching them with a stranger willing to donate their bone marrow or stem cells. They give cancer patients a second chance at life, as without a transplant often patients will not survive.
Tragically, only half of those that need a bone marrow/stem cell transplant each year actually find a match. This is because not enough people are on the bone marrow register!! If it is so easy to save someone's life by donating your own bone marrow or stem cells and you are eligible, please sign up to the register.
In the meantime I am running the Reading Half, in my university town, in order to raise much needed funds. It costs £60 to sign someone up on to the register, so every donation makes a direct difference. Last year myself and many other volunteers at Reading Marrow, one of the many student branches of Anthony Nolan, recruited 113 students onto the register. This alone cost £6780!
Anyone that knows me knows that I love running and I love Marrow hence why I'm running the reading half. Anthony Nolan is a charity close to my heart so it would mean a lot to me (and thousands of other people) if you could donate to this fantastic cause and in doing so help me reach my target!
