I had never even run a marathon when I signed up for the TOUGHEST footrace on earth, the Marathon Des Sables 2014, to do something extraordinary and raise money for a fantastic charity - MENCAP, the charity supporting people with learning disabilities.

Thank you very, very much for supporting them and putting your faith in me to complete the gruelling 156 mile/215km run through the desert. 6 marathons in 6 days and the middle one is a double.

I will be pushed beyond my capabilities - battling the extreme heat, the sand, the weight of my pack and the massive distances.
