Contact Castings Limited, established in 2012 is a business working within the metal industry. As a team we wanted to create something together, so the Wacky Races was the perfect challenge for us.  This gave us the chance to use our knowledge of metal work, work together as a team, and involve communication, leadership, creativity, not to mention a sense of humour. But most importantly to raise money for a hugely worthy cause.

The Contact Castings team and their families, (ranging from the age of 7 to 84) will be involved in building and racing our cart, giving the children a uniquely creative project to work on with their families, and the older members the chance to share their wisdom with the younger members of the team.

We will be creating our own themed cart for the Wacky Races, with the aim of raising £500 for Alzheimer’s Society. We will apply our knowledge and creativity to construct a sturdy chassis and fun design. With many of our team growing up in the 1980’s (and before) what better way to combine the nation’s favourite sit-com with the legendary Wacky Races. We are creating our very own Del Boy’s Reliant. Regal.   Dressed in character, we will hurtle down the hill at speed. In the words of Del Boy, our cart will be Bonnet de douche! (that’s excellent to those who don’t know).

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
