The Centre for Brain Injury, Rehabilitation and Development
(B.I.R.D.) has been transforming lives since 1982. Using a technique called
‘developmental reflexive rehabilitation’, this small charity treats people from
across the UK with a range of conditions including cerebra palsy, stroke,
autism, and learning difficulties.
Its non-invasive, tailored treatment programme addresses the
underlying neurological causes of these and other conditions and provides
services free of charge to those who are least able to afford them.
Ninety per cent of the children and adults who visit the
B.I.R.D. Centre near Chester see their lives markedly improved.
The charity is small and relies on the generosity of its
supporters.
