Story

On the 17th February 2011 just 5 days after becoming my husband Alex Lewis passed away after a long battle with Osteoscarcoma. Since then we have been raising money for a charity that was very special to him. He was the most incredibly positive person I have ever met and he was very keen to get involved with this charity.

In less than 3 weeks I am cycling 100 miles around London and Surrey to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Around 450 people are diagnosed with bone cancer each year in the UK and Republic of Ireland, mainly affecting children and young people between the ages of 10 and 24  and almost half are not expected to survive for longer than 5 years. Critically there has been no improvement in survival rates for bone cancer in almost 30 years.

BCRT sets out to improve the outcome for people with primary bone cancer through research, awareness, information and support.
